“RIKI RACHTMAN” single out now

The second single from Náquera is out today. “Riki Rachtman” was the host of MTV’s Headbangers’ Ball in the late ’80s and early ’90s, if you didn’t know. He also co-owned The Cathouse rock ‘n’ roll nightclub on The Sunset Strip with Faster Pussycat singer, Taime Down. What a pairing.

To anyone under 50, these guys must seem as relevant as Laurel & Hardy did to me as a young ‘un, but they were unavoidable in their day, and the culture was—like it or not—not insignificantly in hock to them. The song is written from the perspective of an old hair metaller who mourns the loss of the “simpler” times when Riki ruled the roost.
